Overview
Pay schedules are an optional way to provide a fixed structure to your payrun dates.
You can currently set up one pay schedule per organisation.
Creating a Pay Schedule in Easy Payslip
Click the Create Pay Schedule button on the Payroll Home screen.
You can now enter your Pay Frequency (weekly, monthly, fortnightly), the Start Date of your next pay period and the Payment Date of your next pay period.
Click Save to return to the Payroll Home screen and you should see your payrun dates have changed.
Once you have created one (or more) payslips for each pay period, the dates will automatically advance to the next period.
FAQs
Q: Why did my pay schedule advance?
A: Your pay schedule advances when you save a payslip that matches its dates. If you subsequently delete a payslip, the schedule will not revert — they can only advance forwards in time, so in that instance you'll just need to manually change the dates when re-creating the payslip.
Q: If I use a pay schedule, can I still do an ad-hoc payrun?
A: Yes! You can just change the dates on the Payroll Home screen to something else and do an ad-hoc payrun. Ad-hoc payruns with other dates do not advance the pay schedule.
Q: Can I have more than one pay schedule per organisation? I pay some employees weekly, and others monthly?
A: You cannot do this currently. Please vote for the feature on our feature request board: Support Multiple Pay Schedules per Org
Q: Are there any restrictions on pay schedules?
A: Just one - if you try to create a Monthly pay schedule with a Start Date after the 28th day of the month, you'll see an error. Need to do this? Please contact our support team and we'll chat with you about the use case.
