The ATO has some slightly different requirements if you are paying out leave to any employee where that leave was accrued before 17 August 1993 (for unused annual leave, leave loading or long-service leave).
This should be reported differently via Single Touch Payroll (Phase 2) using a 'Lump Sum' record.
If you need to pay out leave of any kind that was accrued before 17 August 1993, please contact our support team, and we can arrange for this to be reported to the ATO via STP on your behalf. It is not currently possible to report this directly using Easy Payslip.
You can learn more about this in the ATO's STP Phase 2 Quick Reference Guide.
Why can't I report pre-1993 leave termination payments directly in Easy Payslip?
We spend a lot of time and energy making Easy Payslip the easiest and most straight-forward program for small business to manage their own payroll and STP. This occasionally means making decisions about functionality that we do not want to include in the app, as it adds complexity and will not be applicable to 99%+ of our users. Pre-1993 leave is one of those scenarios. But, we understand that we may still occasionally have users who need to do this — so don't worry if you are one of those users! We have a manual process for reporting STP in these scenarios and our support team will be happy to organise this on your behalf.
