Payday Super
Payday Super started on 1 July 2026 — Easy Business App is fully Payday Super compliant.
Learn more on our dedicated Payday Super page.
Overview
Easy Business App allows you to make superannuation contributions to your employee's super funds. In a couple of clicks you can:
- Generate a payment link (BPAY) or a Direct Debit request to make one payment for all your employees at once to our super clearing house partner. The clearing house then distributes the funds to each employee super fund on your behalf.
- Meet your reporting requirements via SuperStream — we send all the necessary information to the ATO.
Benefits of using Easy Business App to pay super:
- It's free! As of 1 October, 2025, Super is included at no additional cost in your existing Payroll plan
- You just make one payment via BPAY — or set up Direct Debit and have the payment taken automatically.
- You can auto-enrol employees who choose your Default Super Fund option on their Superannuation Standard Choice Form into your default super fund automatically — they'll be enrolled, a membership number assigned and their Employee record updated.
- You stay compliant with your Super Stream reporting obligations as an employer.
- Make super payments wherever you are — even from our mobile app.
- You're Payday Super compliant!
Getting Started
The first step is to register with our superannuation clearing house partner, Beam. This is very straightforward. Simply navigate to the Super section of Payroll and click Set up Auto Super.
What is a Super Clearing House?
A superannuation clearing house is a service that lets you as an Employer make one super payment, even if your Employees belong to many different super funds. The clearing house then splits that payment and sends the correct amount to each employee's chosen fund, along with the required reporting information.
You will find detailed steps in our guide: Super - Registering with Beam.
Frequently Asked Questions about Super
Q: How often do I need to pay super to my employees?
From 1 July 2026, the new Payday Super legislation became law.
This means you need to pay super contributions to your employees on payday i.e. at the same time as you pay their regular wages. Contributions must be received by the funds within seven business days of payday. If you have a brand new employee (or an existing employee gives you new fund details) you have a bit longer — 20 business days to make the first contribution.
If you don't make super contributions on time, the ATO may contact you — and you may then need to pay additional administrative penalties.
Q: What were the old payment deadlines for submitting super via Payroll (prior to Payday Super)? I still need to submit my Q4 2026 super payment.
A: Your Q4 2026 super payment is due to arrive at your employees' funds by 28 July 2026. But you must make the payment well in advance to allow for processing times.
You should ensure that you have submitted super via Payroll and made your BPAY payment no later than 3 business days (note, business days, so often this is 5 calendar days) before the ATO deadline. For Direct Debit payments, this should be no later than 5 business days, so 7 calendar days, before the deadline.
We'd recommend making payments even earlier than that in case of any errors.
| Q. | Period | Payment due to arrive at super funds | BPAY Payment Deadline | Direct Debit Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 1 April – 30 June | 28 July | 23 July 15:30 AEST | 20 July 15:30 AEST |
Q: Can I use the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) instead?
A: No. The ATO's Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) closed on 30 June, 2026 as part of the Payday Super reforms. You cannot use it any more, even for your Q4 2026 payment.
